Man arrested for murder of girlfriend

A 24-year-old man was arrested in De Rust in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, said Western Cape police on Sunday.

Police spokesman Captain Malcolm Pojie said the man apparently took his girlfriend, also 24, to a church premises around 2am on Saturday.

They had an argument during which the man allegedly hit the woman across the face, causing her to lose consciousness. Pojie said the man then apparently took two stones, threw them at her, hitting her on the head and neck and kicked her several times...

30 Claim Abuse By Tracy Plastic Surgeon

Thirty alleged victims are now involved in a sexual abuse case involving a Tracy doctor, the lead investigator said Thursday.

Authorities said Wednesday that 47-year-old Dr. Peter Chi is facing 11 felony counts pertaining to the alleged abuse of eight adult female cosmetic surgery patients between September 2007 and December 2008.

Kingston man admits raping 13-year-old

A registered sex offender from Kingston has pleaded guilty to raping a 13-year-old girl, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.

Jerome Fischer, 27, formerly of 81 Cedar St., pleaded guilty Tuesday in Ulster County Court before County Judge J. Michael Bruhn to charges of felony rape and violating the conditions of his probation.

Fischer was arrested Dec. 22, 2008, by Kingston police on charges he supplied the 13-year-old victim with liquor and beer during the evening of Dec. 21 until she became unconscious, according to a press release from the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
