Special Education Aide Christopher French Likely to Plead Guilty in Rape Case

A teacher’s aide from Winchester is expected to plead guilty to charges he used the Internet to lure girls into pornography and sex, raping one 14-year-old.

Christopher French, who was an special education aide at McCall Middle School, was charged last year with one count of rape and 17 other charges, including possession of child pornography and enticement of a child under the age of 16.

Prosecutors said the 29-year-old French groomed girls through online chats, sending and receiving naked photographs. In one case, he is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl at her house...

Dry Cleaner Ralph G. Klosterman Charged with Rape

The owner of a dry cleaning business was arrested and charged over the weekend with raping a woman at his home in the 3700 block of Crestknoll Lane.

Ralph G. Klosterman, 52, owner of Klosterman's Cleaners, 5538 Colerain Ave., faces a rape charge. He was held overnight on $25,000 bond at the Hamilton County jail.

City man held in murder case in Michigan

How does a man described as a good neighbor and loving father end up a suspect in a double murder in which the victims may be his relatives?

That's what those who know city resident Johan A. Vanniekerk are wondering since two bodies were found in a Marshall, Mich., Comfort Inn around 5:30 p.m. Friday. Vanniekerk, 40, was preliminarily charged with two counts of murder and an immigration violation Sunday and was being held without bond at the Calhoun County Jail. He was scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. today at 10th District Court in Battle Creek, Mich.

Fort Wayne Police believe Vanniekerk drove to Marshall with his mother and one of his three young daughters after being accused of beating his wife, Donna J. Vanniekerk, according to a news release from Officer John Chambers, a Fort Wayne Police spokesman. Police have not said why Vanniekerk stopped in Marshall, a town of about 7,300 located about 90 miles north of Fort Wayne.

Ex-soldier bragged about Iraqi rape, deaths

A former U.S. soldier on trial in the gang rape of an Iraqi girl and the murder of her and her family in the war zone in 2006 was caught in a "perfect storm of insanity," his lawyer told a jury on Monday.

But government prosecutors in the same courtroom said former Private 1st Class Steven Green, alleged ringleader of the slayings, was only interested in killing Iraqis "nonstop" and bragged during a barbecue celebration later that what he had done was "awesome."

Green, 23, is being tried in federal court as a civilian since his arrest came after he was discharged from the U.S. Army later in 2006 for a "personality disorder."...

Mexico arrests US man accused of raping 19 women

A Texas man has been arrested for allegedly raping 19 women across the border in the northern Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez, authorities said Monday.

Jorge Alberto Mendez, 42, was arrested Saturday while trying to cross into Mexico from El Paso, Texas, where he lives, said regional Deputy Attorney General Alejandro Pariente.

Pariente said the investigation began in April 2008 with the rape of a 15-year-old girl. Similar cases were subsequently reported.

One of the victims managed to write down the license plate number of her assailant, which eventually led to Mendez's arrest, Pariente said...

Three Teens Behind Bars For Sexual Assault On Classmate

Three Spotsylvania County teens are behind bars in connection to a sexual attack on a classmate.

All of the students involved attend Chancellor High School and ride the same school bus. Instead of worrying about year book photos, three seniors are now getting mug shots and two are facing forcible sodomy charges and the third is facing child porn charges.

The investigation began with a raised toilet seat. A father became suspicious when he saw it and he asked his 15-year-old daughter who had been in the home.

"That's when she got very upset, broke down and admitted she'd been raped by two individuals," said Sgt. Liz Scott with the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Department...

Austrian incest father pleads guilty to all counts

In a stunning turn of events, an Austrian on trial for imprisoning his daughter for 24 years and fathering her seven children pleaded guilty Wednesday to all charges against him — including negligent homicide — after hearing his daughter's heart-wrenching testimony.

In a change of heart, Josef Fritzl calmly acknowledged his guilt on the third day of a trial that has drawn media attention from around the world for its shocking allegations.

"I declare myself guilty to the charges in the indictment," Fritzl, 73, told a panel of judges, referring at one point to what he called "my sick behavior."

Fritzl faces up to life imprisonment on the negligent homicide count, which he initially had contested along with an enslavement charge. Prosecutors also had charged him with rape, incest, forced imprisonment and coercion...

Coach in abuse case has rape conviction

A youth basketball coach currently facing sexual abuse charges in Clackamas County, Ore., has a rape conviction in his past, records show.

The (Portland) Oregonian said Tuesday 1974 records show youth basketball coach Howard Avery was convicted on rape charges when he was 17. Details of the conviction were not available in the documents.

Avery's trial on sex abuse charges involving a 17-year-old girl is scheduled to begin April 17...

Ex-officers go on trial in rape case

Two former Iowa police officers go on trial Tuesday on charges of second-degree sexual abuse.

Former Creston Police Chief James Christensen, 41, and former Assistant Chief John Sickels, 39, are accused in the alleged rape of an employee at the local country club last year.

The trial begins at 9 a.m. at the Woodbury County Courthouse in Sioux City. Proceedings were moved from Union County at the defendants' request.

Sickels is accused of raping a bartender of the Crestmoor Golf Club at about 2 a.m. on April 18, 2008. The bartender said the rape occurred when only she, Sickels and Christensen were in the bar, according to an affidavit filed by an investigator for the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation...

High School Senior Charged With Rape

A White Plains teenager was arrested yesterday after a female acquaintance accused him of raping her in an empty classroom at their Charles County high school, authorities said.

Anthony Hansley, 18, was charged with second-degree rape and second-degree assault and was ordered held on $150,000 bond, authorities said. Hansley, a senior at Henry E. Lackey High School in Indian Head, is accused of raping a 16-year-old junior about two hours after school let out Wednesday, authorities said.

Hansley, a basketball player at Lackey, was waiting at the school for a ride to his game at Chopticon High School, authorities said. The junior was there for a different after-school activity, authorities said...

Kingston man admits raping 13-year-old

A registered sex offender from Kingston has pleaded guilty to raping a 13-year-old girl, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.

Jerome Fischer, 27, formerly of 81 Cedar St., pleaded guilty Tuesday in Ulster County Court before County Judge J. Michael Bruhn to charges of felony rape and violating the conditions of his probation.

Fischer was arrested Dec. 22, 2008, by Kingston police on charges he supplied the 13-year-old victim with liquor and beer during the evening of Dec. 21 until she became unconscious, according to a press release from the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office. The release said the victim awoke sometime later in the early morning hours of Dec. 22 as Fischer was raping her...

Murder suspect faces rape charge in fiancé's death

A man accused of killing his pregnant fiancé is now facing a rape charge in the case.Michael Mead was arrested in January and charged with first-degree murder, burglary and arson.Indictments issued Tuesday show Mead faces additional charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree rape.Mead is accused of breaking into Lucy Johnson's home on July 16, shooting her twice in the head and then setting the home on fire...

Man arrested after break-in, sexual assault

Barron police have arrested a man in connection with an early-morning break-in and rape last week in the city. The suspect has since been criminally charged.

Joseph R. Stoeberl, 38, of Barron had his initial appearance Jan. 22 in Barron County Circuit Court before Judge Tim Doyle on charges of second-degree sexual assault with use of force, burglary and criminal damage to property. The judge established a $2,500 cash bond for the defendant, and a Jan. 29 preliminary hearing date has been scheduled.

50 children a day suffering sexual abuse, says NSPCC

Children are subjected to more than 50 sex attacks every day, figures obtained by the NSPCC reveal today.

In almost a quarter of cases uncovered by the charity, the victims were ten or younger. The number of crimes against girls was six times higher than against boys.

There were 20,758 sex crimes against under-18s reported to police in 2008, including rape, gross indecency and incest, the children's charity said...

Sex abuse brothers jailed for life

TWO brothers have been jailed for life today for a horrific catalogue of sexual abuse of children. Colin and Lee Wicks, both from Gillingham, were charged with 31 counts including rape, sexual assault of a child under 13 and indecent assault. They related to the abuse of five children, one as young as four, over an 11-year period from 1994 to 2005. One of the counts involved Lee, formerly of Chapel Street, Minster, sexually assaulting a child at Sheerness pier...

Montgomery County Police Seek Three Suspects in Abduction, Rape

Montgomery County police are investigating an abduction and rape in Gaithersburg early Sunday morning.

A 21-year-old woman from Laurel had been at the home of a friend and left to walk to the 7-Eleven store on Duvall Lane around 3:00 a.m. She was in the area of Olde Towne when a red four-door SUV carrying three unknown men stopped next to her. One of the men got out of the vehicle, grabbed the victim and pulled her inside.

They drove to an unknown remote location, where the three men raped the woman. They then drove back to the 7200 block of Muncaster Mill Road and left the victim there, where she was able to seek help...

Father gets 70-year sentence for rape, incest

An 18-year-old girl raped and shocked with a dog collar for years by her father just wanted to know why he subjected her to the abuse before a judge sentenced the man to 70 years imprisonment.

"She said she wanted to ask him why and hoped that question haunted him for the rest of his life," said Assistant District Attorney Amanda Sammons.

The teenager's question arose Friday during a sentencing hearing for her father in Tazewell. Criminal Court Judge E. Shayne Sexton sentenced the 38-year-old man to serve at least 85 percent of the sentence before being eligible for parole...

Trucker charged in rape, abduction

A 41-year-old trucker wanted in the rape and abduction of a 16-year-old girl was arrested within hours Friday after police found him hiding in the attic of his home in West Chester Township.

Steven Toy was jailed in Butler County, while his wife, Kimberly, is charged with obstructing justice for allegedly refusing to tell police his whereabouts when they showed up at the home on Cindy Lou Court. Police acquired a search warrant for the home and found Toy there about 1:45 p.m.

Police investigate 2 OKC rapes

The rapes and abductions of two women may have been committed by a man whom police believe may have attacked others.

John Early Stepney Jr., 31, was arrested Thursday in connection with two assaults that were reported within three weeks of each other in northwest Oklahoma City, police said.

Stepney faces complaints including rape, rape by instrumentation, pointing a firearm, armed robbery and vehicle larceny, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said. A judge denied bail until charges are filed...More Here...

Library Rape Victim To Get Help

A team of volunteer therapists is taking over the care of an 18-year-old woman who survived being raped and beaten nearly to death at the Bloomingdale Regional Library last April.

Family friend and physical therapist Cheryl Zemina said therapy services that had been covered by the state's insurance soon will end for the young woman, who is back at her South Shore home. Professionals in the community, however, have offered to make sure she receives all the therapy she needs.

The former East Bay High School student, whose name is being withheld to protect her identity, was attacked the evening of April 24 while returning books to the library...More Here...
