Closing arguments start in Grant murder case

Sex, religious visions and a murder charge: It's no wonder all three major national TV networks are following the bizarre case of Douglas Grant.

Grant, a former dietician for the Phoenix Suns, is charged with first-degree murder, accused of drugging his wife, Faylene, and drowning her in the bathtub of their Gilbert home in September 2001.

On Tuesday, Deputy County Attorney Juan Martinez began his closing arguments in the four-month trial.

By all accounts, Faylene was devoted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from which Grant had been excommunicated for having extramarital affairs. They divorced in 2000, and Grant pursued two women before reconciling with Faylene...
