A mother told a Nevada jury Tuesday that her young daughter whispered to her that she was molested by a man who also is accused of videotaping his sexual assault of a 2-year-old.
"She kept whispering in my ear," said the mother, whose testimony was interrupted several times while Clark County District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti ruled that the mother's recollections of what her then 6-year-old daughter told her in December 2003 were admissible evidence against Chester Arthur Stiles.

RI man gets life sentence in child's beating death
A man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for fatally beating his girlfriend's 3-year-old nephew because the child spilled milk and yogurt on a rug.
Gilbert Delestre apologized for his role in the October 2004 death of Thomas "T.J." Wright, telling Providence Superior Court Judge Netti Vogel he felt ashamed and prayed each day for forgiveness.
But Vogel called him a coward and "sick and evil" person whose only remorse was at having been caught.

Double murder, suicide in Noble County
A young boy, his mother and father were all discovered early this morning at their home on Hunters Cut Road in Noble County after the father, Theodore A. Bayly, 39, called saying he had killed his family and was going to kill himself.
Noble County Sheriff Landon Smith said Bayly called his office just before 2 a.m. saying he had killed his wife, Janice, 40, and their son, Colton, 11 and told dispatchers where to find the bodies.
Smith said the dispatcher attempted to talk to Bayly for seven minutes, but Bayly went ahead and shot himself on an embankment near the family’s mobile home.

Local business man charged with wife's murder
Police say that 44-year-old Muzzammil Hassan came to the police station at approximately 6:20 p.m. Thursday and said that his wife was dead.
Hassan told police that his wife, 37-year-old Aasiya Hassan, was at their business, Bridges TV on Thorne Avenue.
Officers responded to the business and found his wife inside.
Muzzammil Hassan was arrested and charged with murder in the second degree.

A father-of-five has been found guilty of murder after locking his wife in a room and setting fire to their home.
Alan Stead, of Meynell Fields, Loggerheads, in Staffordshire, denied killing his wife, Anita, in May 2002.
She died in a room he built in the garage of their home used to hide a computer game counterfeiting operation, Stafford Crown Court heard.
Stead, arrested after police agreed to reopen the case, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 25 years.

A White Plains teenager was arrested yesterday after a female acquaintance accused him of raping her in an empty classroom at their Charles County high school, authorities said.
Anthony Hansley, 18, was charged with second-degree rape and second-degree assault and was ordered held on $150,000 bond, authorities said. Hansley, a senior at Henry E.
