Man allegedly beat girlfriend, children

A benign request made by a 4-year-old boy sent Angel Garcia into a violent rage Wednesday night inside the second-floor apartment Garcia shares with the boy's mother, according to authorities.

Garcia allegedly became enraged when his girlfriend's son asked to go to the bathroom, said New Bedford police spokesman Jeffrey Silva.

Garcia, an unemployed 32-year-old who was born in Puerto Rico, told the child to relieve himself in his pants, then punched the boy in the face, Silva said..
