Due to allegations of defense attorney misconduct and incompetence, as well as a paperwork mix-up, a Friday sentencing hearing was delayed for a Holladay man convicted of running down his wife with a pickup truck.
Sherman Alexander Lynch III claims his trial attorneys refused to let him see all the evidence in the case, ignored evidence that would have proved his innocence and refused to have other items tested.
But the clincher for 3rd District Judge Deno Himonas was that Lynch did not receive his pre-sentence report until Friday. State law requires the reports to be provided to defendants at least three days before sentencing...More Here...
